World class HSC preparation
BORDER music students have been treated to a two-day masterclass with internationally acclaimed singer and vocal coach Simone Waddell.
Trinity Anglican College students in Thurgoona performed for Ms Waddell and were given professional tips to help them take on the HSC.
Ms Waddell has performed across the globe and was the first Australian to be awarded a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Year 12 student Courtney Fagence said the experience had been "amazing".
"It's absolutely brilliant, we've learnt so much from her, it's been a really good opportunity," she said.
"It's been really fun, she has such a fun attitude and she gets us all involved and she makes it not as scary as it seems to be."
Ms Waddell the students had been receptive and welcoming of her teaching.
"There's a lot of really good talent here and a lot of really good potential too," she said.
"The culture is set up so that all I need to do is just come in and teach."
The two-day masterclass was sponsored by St Matthews Music Association for Country Kids.
Rector of St Matthews Albury Father Peter MacLeod-Miller said he hoped this opportunity would open doors for the students involved.
"Music is an international passport, I like to think that all the kids here who experience this will realise they could be part of a big world," he said.
"Those kids will come away with something special and it might unlock a door for them into a better future."
